Welcome to Heavens Tea Tasting Sets: This is a labor of love. We specialize in excellent quality aged puerh and rare tea tasting sets. Each set contains from 7-11 beautifully wrapped one pot (5 gram) samples of high quality tea. The sets are designed to give you a breadth and depth in your study of tea and will allow you to educate yourself in different aspects of the aged tea experience. They are ideal for tea tasting parties with friends or for self-study of a particular genre of tea. I presently offer four aged puerh sets, one aged oolong set, one aged Chinese tea set, a Wuyi Rock tea set and one Japanese sencha set. About Heavens Tea
Heavens Tea: The name of this company refers to the fact that tea is sacred, a gift of grace to man and that with it he can transcend the mundane world. Cha Dao and good tea such as aged puerh can bring us into deeper contact with our essential selves, our world and the heavens.
Sacred Tea: Tea is sacred. Tea has the ability to calm us, open us and to shift us into a higher place within our selves. Tea has a way of connecting us to nature, to our friends and to ourselves. Tea is a gift from nature, given to humans, to help them become part of the deeper harmonies of life. All tea sold here I have personally tasted, stored with respect and handled carefully. This business is a work of love for me and everything is treated with respect, devotion and care. I wish to pass this tea and spirit on to others.

Aged Puerh: There is a huge interest developing in the West now for puerh teas. The reason these teas were traditionally so valued in Chinese culture is that the aging process leads to a development of qi or energy in the cake. Each kind of puerh has its own unique flavor profile and energetic qualities, offering different experiences, sometimes very profound ones. Unfortunately, few in the West understand the exceptional range of taste and experiences available in aged teas. Puerhs need time to mature, develop and chemically (and alchemically) change. This generally takes anywhere from ten to twenty years. Underaged puerhs were not traditionally drunk. Although there can be great beauty in them, the treasured experience of what these cakes can transform into is being missed. A big reason for this is that there is not much aged puerh available in the West, and it's extremely costly to get experience and an education as to what is good as one must buy whole cakes to try a new tea.
My Goal: To give people learning about puerhs (and other special teas) a chance to taste quality aged tea and to give puerh lovers a chance to try a variety of good tea without spending thousands of dollars. The only way to really understand aged tea is by drinking it. Tasting a wide variety of teas gives one a greater understanding of the range of experiences offered by different puerhs and the ways in which good puerh changes as it ages. These sets will open up the gates of the aged puerh experience and allow people to explore further, on their own, with a good knowledge base. For those who already love these teas, these sets offer beautiful and quite varied experiences.
These sets are ideal for studying teas in-depth alone or for purchasing for tasting parties with a few friends. One of the best ways to learn about teas is to drink a series with friends and share observations on the different aspects of each tea.
In the Future: We will increase the depth of age, quality and quantity of good puerh samples. I hope to be able to offer many different aged puerh sample sets. My aim is to support the experience of drinking and understanding aged puerh in the West.
Other Sets: Although my main goal is working with puerhs, I am offering a few other interesting things: Aged oolong sets, a set of 7 different aged Chinese teas, high quality Wuyi Rock tea sets and a set of very fresh senchas from 8 different plantations. Each of these sets should allow one to gain a good basic understanding of the nature, the aesthetic beauty, and the unique experience offered by each class of teas. All the teas in these sets are very high quality and not the average teas you find being sold in this country.
